JN.MELLOR CLUB is part of the Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2024 program with an installation/performance entitled “Monomi”, in collaboration with the artist duo Disconoma (Fanny Terno and Thomas Vauthier).

A sketch of contemporary rituality, “Monomi” is somewhere between an artistic installation and a ceremony, combining Disconoma's performative scenography with new objects/tools from the research initiated during the JN. Mellor Club's residency at Villa Kujoyama, to create a suspended space-time conducive to contemplation.

LA MIA CASA AZUL

Primordial objects, elementary architectures and ornaments recreate an idyllic micro-universe in the cerulean interior of the gallery. With this eclectic environment composed of new works by international and Italian artists, Margherita Ratti honors the universe of Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul in Mexico City. Between the everyday and the ceremonial, between action and contemplation, the selected works, handmade with natural materials, are impregnated with vegetal and animal evocations. They invite to a sensorial experience; an aesthetic journey that celebrates the materiality of these contemporary works that seem ancient.
The public is invited to walk among the animated bestiaries and wool tapestries by Célia Picard & Hannes Schreckenberger, the textile sculptures by the Slovakian artist Karol Pichler, the stone walls made of paper by the very young Michelangelo Menu, the symbolic ceramics by MAR , the ornamental tapestry and the precious stools by the duo JN. Mellor Club.

BIENVENUE DESIGN - Hôtel de La Louisiane

"Interior Jewels”
For this second edition of Bienvenue Design at the Hôtel La Louisiane, JN.Mellor Club presented a selection of Objects and Accessories in mutation, where the hybridity of practices blurs the codes of luxury. Waste becomes precious, the bag becomes sculpture, the object has several lives, its use and status evolving with encounters, exchanges and desires. The finest leather meets sandstone, marble or metal, and the meticulous "haute-couture" work of different skills and exceptional materials transforms the object into an ornament, a genuine "interior jewel".

COLLECTIBLE - Bruxelles

SYSTEMS/ La Bocca Della Verità gallery

A selection of architectural models and furniture as micro-architectures, put together by curator Margherita Ratti at the invitation of Jean François Declerq (Atelier Jespers and La Bocca Della Verità, Brussels), JN. Mellor Club searches for poetry in the crevices of everyday life, transposing residue into preciousness. With this set of obsolete stools, JN. Mellor Club sees a wired structure, a small architecture akin to a loom. The meticulous weaving of crystal beads and chains changes the status of the object, transforming it into an ornament of delicate, iconoclastic richness.

BIENNALE EMERGENCES, Pantin

For the 2020 edition of the Emergences Biennial, JN. Mellor Club has created JN_FB-001: a device made of rubble, covered in precious leathers, an allegory of archaeological fragments, relics or elements of (re)-construction. 16 pieces of rubble (concrete, plaster, cast iron, rock) of various sizes covered with latex foam, sheathed in leather from the stocks of major luxury brands, worked in the tradition of saddlery and boot-making: sheathing, saddle-stitching, lacquered edges...
JN. Mellor Club continues to explore the porosity between the sensible and the futile, seeking poetry in the interstices of everyday life and transforming residue into preciousness, into fetish.

REVELATIONS

Biennale internationale des métiers d’art et de la Création, Le Banquet France

At the request of Mr. Jannick Thiroux (curator of the Banquet France), JN.Mellor Club has chosen to present his first piece at the Révélations show. A totemic device somewhere between a game of divination with organic forms and archaeological fragments, like so many pebbles left on the path to better find oneself, to return to the essential, towards a more assertive creation with purified forms and natural materials. A true statement piece in the JN. Mellor club, comprising ten sand-weighted leather symbols and four semi-precious stone tokens (Jasper, Pietersite, Agate and Porphyry). Edition of 3
